Ben Mills is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter and muscian from Kent. The second of three children, he was born in the Medway Towns on the 1st March 1980. He grew up in Walderslade, near Chatham, later moving to Chilham before finally settling down in Whitstable.
Able to play both the guitar and piano, Ben has had a keen interest in music since a very early age and after finishing his A levels attended the Academy Of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey. He left aged 19 with a Diploma in Music.
Following a succession of small gigging jobs, Ben joined the Doors tribute band, the LA Doors, taking on the role of keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Together with the band, Ben spent the next couple of years touring Europe but after a while, by his own admission, was simply going through the motions.
Needing a regular income Ben set up a marquee company, catering for parties and weddings across southern England. Music was still very much a part of his life, however, so he formed another band, Benzego, which would often play at these functions as well as covering the pub and club circuit.
Unable to gain recognition from the music industry, Ben was seriously considering giving up trying to make it and concentrate soley on his business. It was at this time that a friend recommended that he enter the X Factor. Despite reservations he took his friend's advice and came third, finally gaining the recognition he had been craving for so long. His success on this show resulted in a recording contract with SonyBMG in early 2007 and the subsequent release of his debut album, Picture Of You, in March.
Throughout 2007, Ben travelled the UK playing a series of gigs at venues such as the Maidstone Music Room, the Kings Hall in Herne Bay and the Landmarc in Bournemouth, as well a number of Chicago Rock Cafes. He is currently writing and recording his second album.
Ben's natural talent for performing live, coupled with the reputation he has for always giving time to his fans, is securing him a very strong following. His popularity is growing and is sure to get bigger......
